Cats Meet Dogs

My kittens have discovered a sacred spot that pays homage to all the felines that have gone before them... a sunny window sill. When mother works in the yard the two cats sit in the window and stare at the three chihuahuas in the yard "helping" Mom garden.

These tiny dogs, though they may look vulnerable and frail, never tire of ceaselessly barking at my sweethearts- and so I devised a plan. We had a cookout Sunday and mother brought the dogs to meet the cats. Noses were rubbed and tails were sniffed. There was some hiding and little chasing, but everyone got along pretty well up close- no barking at least.

It was wonderful hanging out with the family. My aunt, Gael, introduced the cats to some fuzzy mice toys that they have played with non-stop since she left Sunday. And the cats napped hard, even with all the company we had (even shy little Lux- amazing) It was a lovely weekend.

A Quote: Looking for Alaska by John Green

"I wanted to be one of those people who have streaks to maintain, who scorch the ground with their intensity. But for now, at least I knew such people, and they needed me, just like comets need tails."

Everyone knows what CURIOSITY did to the cat...

Lux makes a bed out of a tool bag and Trouble lounges in a baby car seat. They have to check everything out!

Lux-aby

Lux is sleeping like a baby

Bookshelf bandits

Lux in a tree

They love climbing the new bookshelf in the bedroom. Lux even got in the top of the tree!

Fake plant magnatism

Sleeping kittens

They play hard and they sleep hard. I'm so happy I got two so they can keep each other company!

Trouble

Trouble

She watches me get ready every morning from her perch on the porcelain throne. When I look her way she paws the air begging me to reach down and pet her. It is irresistible and certainly contributes to making it difficult to leave the house every morning.
